Resurfacing concrete floor, simple question about DPC

by quiksilver911 » Fri Jul 13, 2007 11:43 am

Hi,

I'm new so forgive me if this is obvious.

My kitchen has a utility room attached. Both rooms have concrete floors, but the utility room is about 10cm lower than the kitchen, and uneven. I want to add maybe 5cm of concrete/cement to even the utility room floor.

When I bought the house I didn't get any DPC problem reports from the surveyor, should I be ok just using readymix to even the floor out of the utility room and doing nothing else (w.r.t DPC, insulation, etc, as shown in ground slabs project)?

Thanks very much.

Hi,

Firstly, is your utility room an unheated larder type room? I.e, a room which is basically outside but attached to the house?
