i live in a regular 3 bed semi and i am currently boarding the loft out, there is a wooden cross member approx 30 inches up from floor attached each end to the timber roof truss, this is 5 trusses in from dividing wall with 8 trusses to the other side b4 the roof slopes away, the cross member is approx 3 x2in, there is only 1 of these cross members in the whole roof, first question can it be removed? second question will it need to braced/supported elsewhere?
