room stat wiring problem

Post by royalunicorns » Tue Sep 04, 2007 10:34 am

on sundial y plan before changeing a V4073 mid valve, I checked the wiring control strip to the y plan but found that the blue wire from T6360B room stat was to terminal 10 (no other wire conected) instead of No 2, after isolating power I checked stat and found only terminals 1 & 3 conected also earth and blue neutral had been cut short, as there was plenty of slack cable I pulled some through so I could have tails at = lengths then conected wies Red to 1, Blue to 2, yellow to 3 and sleeved earth to earth terminal, I then moved control strip No 10 blue wire to No 2 position after switching on the sytem did not work so i isolated the blue wire back to no10 and system works again, if I change stat to a new one and then conect to No2 neutral should it then be ok. :?
