Screeching noise from boiler/pipes

Post by jazua » Sun Apr 01, 2007 8:31 am

Our boiler fires up for a few seconds before turning itself off. When its flamed there is an awful screeching noise that goes right through the house. We still maintain heat from the radiators and full hot water. Whats the problem?

This is an air intake problem.

Easy to fix, but call out a pro to have a look.

There could be a risk of carbon monoxides gas leaking out.

And I would leave a window open in the area of the boiler until it’s checked out.
