Sealing Coal Chute

by mspoke » Fri Mar 14, 2008 4:33 pm

Hi, Any ideas on how I can seal a leaking coal chute? I haven't fully opened the cover which seems to be leaking water into the cellar when it rains.

Any advice much appreciated.

sealing a coal chute

Recently had a job dealing with a redundant wall mounted cast-iron coal chute with a sliding cover, knock it out with a hammer & chisel, break up the concrete chute and remove rubble infill,go down to a level surface then brick up, add an air brick as a precaution against damp
