sealing with siliconaround the bath

I have water leaking around the edge of the bath where the tiles meet the edge of the bath. I have removed the old silicon and the grout (between the tiles and the bath edge) came away with it. Do I need to replace this grout before filling the bath with water and resealing with silicon?
