    Seriously ruined screw

    Postby mike1 » Mon Mar 02, 2009 10:12 pm

Largely through my impatience and annoyance, I have a severely busted screw half extracted from a masonry wall. I have a screw extraction kit but the screw is so mullered that there is nothing left for the teeth to dig into.

What is the best way to extract such a screw ? I have tried pliers to no avail.

    Any ideas appreciated

    1. Molegrips. They need to be really tight on it but you will be able to get it out.

    2. Drill it out.

    Cheers
