I have just fitted 2 new radiators in my living room. My pet birds are out all the time and I want to make sure they don't land on the top the radiators when hot.
My plan was to fit a shelf a few inches above the radiator. Unfortunately I found I could only drill 1 inch into the wall before hitting something solid. This is strange as I attached the radiators to the wall just below this with screws at least as long.
I'm now looking for an alternative solution. Can I fit a shelf with only 1 inch screws? The shelves wouldn't need to support any weight. Can anybody think of other ideas to protect the birds?
