SHOCKING!!!

by sydlum » Sat Nov 15, 2008 11:15 am

Hello
If I remove an electrical switch box from a wall, what are my options with the exposed mains wire?

I don not have free access to the mains box, and so need alternatives???

Any suggestions would help - I have no clue whatever, and death is out of the question.

Thanks, Steve

I hope I have this right these cables are still connected tom the fuse box/ consumer unit and are live! if so. If you are not removing the cables that are inside the back box, the cables must be terminated within the box and a blank plate put other the front where the switch plate was. It is important that the area the cable runs if still live are identified so by place a blank on it it will make you and others aware of the danger. You can not just joint up and plaster over.
