Shower Blowing a fuse
Hi guys, the site was recommended to me but you will have to excuse my ignorance - I am female after all - have just fitted a new shower 10.5kw? and a straight swap for my old one an 8.0 kw? only problem is every time you turn it on to hot water it blows a fuse - kinda need some help and advice - thanx
Without getting all mathsy.....
each kWatt draws around 4.2 Amps from supply, SO.......8 x 4.2A =33.6A. and......10.5 x 4.2A=44.1A i,m guessing you have a 40 A. fuse fitted?, will your circuit cable take a larger fuse rating, how large is the cable?, how far from fuse board to shower in meters ? you need a friend in the trade, (qualified Electrician, not the bloke down the pub)hi, as temp measure if shower has 2 settings try lower one to see if fuse blows, it should not, Sparx
