silicone

by oldgitofkent » Mon Aug 30, 2010 9:52 pm

Hi i have just had replacement windows fitted to match the existing brown ones. Other problems aside they have used clear glazing silicone for the whole job. I say it should be brown building silicone as in the existing windows. They say clear is the normal used even on brown windows.
I thing this is wrong and it should all be removed and replaced and because its glazing silicone its already peeling off in places around the brickwork.
Could anyone say if im wrong.
Cheers Shaun

oldgitofkent,
Silicone frame sealant should have been used - it comes in white and brown.
