hi there.

not sure if any one can help me on this one.

I'm looking to make a small timer or light activated motor operated door.

its to open a small wooden door on a chicken pen.

i have seen kits to make one using a mains powered system but i would like to make one using batteries if possible.

have been looking at small kits from places such as maplins.

but wondered if any one here might be able to shed some light on an easier solution.

Wiper motors, and electric windows are likely to provide you with slow enough motors for the job. Gravity close and motor open for safety. Walk around a scrap yard.
