Soil Pipe, Building Regs and Hygene

Post by optheatre » Mon Jun 30, 2008 11:27 am

Hi, I'm putting in our new kitchen. Ideally our dish washer and washing machine would be go at the far end of our kitchen but I can't put a drain pipe in because it would slop across a door way.

However the soil pipe from our bathroom runs right outside the wall next to it and straight in to the ground. It could be connected there but I don't know the problems I could be raising by tapping into it.

Is it possible? Would it be okay if I attach a u-bend? Does it need a u-bend? I'm sure I have to do something as it's the same pipe that carries the toilet waste.

Any help is very much appreciated! Fraser

Hi optheatre,

can't see any issues on what you have said, aslong as you do not join anywhere that already has a junction/pipe joining, fit the normal traps IAW Regs and away you go.
