Sound Proof Door Frame and Bottom of Door

Post by mrorange1 » Fri Jul 22, 2016 12:08 pm

Hi all,

I have some people across from me who slam their flat door and as i live in a studio i cannot espcape the noise. I would however (as cheap as possible) like to try and soundproof my door a bit better. without spending much as i currently live on a budget, are there cheap ways i can close up the gaps along the sides, top and bottom of the door frame. I am quite handy with wood work. i would really like to try and reduce the noise if possible. any ideas, suggestions would be welcome.
cheers

yes you can buy a brush pile strip for the bottom of the door, and you can buy a self adhesive insulated gasket that fits around the rebate of the door.
Also you can buy cork tiles that you can stick on the door to give you insulation and sound proofing,
