sound proofing concrete flooring

Hi All,

Stumbled across this site and hoping to get some worth while information i hope.

Im looking to sound proof the concrete floors in my flat from airborn noise only and not impact noise.

Iam considering rubber sheeting over the floor and seal the edges with chipboard layed over the top.

Can you tell me is this a good way forward or is there another alternative.

If you can cope with an increase in floor level of +40mm use chipboard with rockwool bonded onto the back.
