I live directly in the path of the Heathrow flight path. The planes wake me up most mornings and this is now starting to get to me. I've layed more insulation and even put flooring in the loft to try to prevent the noise to little affect.
I was wondering if I could install polystyrene blocks in the roof under the tiling felt, then put a therma wrap beneath the polysterene to increase the sound proofing. Is it possible to put polystyrene blocks under the roofing felt? Is this fire proof? or is it just possible to install the thermal wrap as this says it's the equivalent of 55mm of polystyrene
