Soundproofing noisy gate
We recently had a side gate fitted to the outside of our end of terrace property. It is used regularly by our neighbours in the 10 or so adjoining houses. We have had it sprung as if it were not it would be left open. The trouble is that when it is left to close it slams shut very loudly. I have tried pads but this has not helped. Can anybody suggest any other solutions to our problem?
Hi Nic,
I don't know for sure, but, I thought about an exterior form of a door closer - similar to those on fire doors. They open with force used (adjustable) and close slowly but more importantly quietly. Or try a different type of latching mechanism perhaps. Hth Steve
