spotlight wiring

by moggzie » Tue Apr 08, 2008 11:52 am

hope someone can advise me on this.
I have just removed a striplight from my landing and built a false ceiling with four spotlights in , i have daisy chained them together and i am unsure wether i can just connect the final core cable straight to the old cable from the striplight with a junction/terminal box.
any help appreciated
thanks moggzie

As I am sure you realise without seeing the job it is very hard to answer but in general junction boxes must be accessible. Daisy chained makes me wonder if serial or parallel for 230 volt only the later would do, and also spot lights come in both 12 and 230 volt versions only the latter can be connected directly without transformers.
