    Stair Trimmer Joist

    Postby g8kps » Mon Jul 06, 2009 11:07 pm

    Hi

The design of my first floor extension called for 3 150x50mm joist bolted together for the trimmer joist. However when the joist timber was delivered it was a nominal 47x150mm, when measured it was just 45x150mm. My problem is that all the wood-to-wood joist hangers that I have found are ether too big 150wide or too small 125wide. I have tried to find another timber suppler of 50x150mm c16 without luck.

    Can anyone suggest a solution?

    Ray

    g8kps,
Don't understand your reference to "too big 150wide" or "too small 125 wide" but if you must have 50x150 find a timber merchant with a saw mill and get them to cut 75x150 to the size you want.
    end
