I am looking to buy a bungalow built circa 1945. The roof structure is made of what looks like steel with timber and tile covering. Its definately not a prefab so I am guessing that post war metal was cheaper and more readily available. Problem is, its starting to rust, its looks like condensation may have been an issue and the bank are getting cold feet. Easy way out is to rip it off and start again with timber. Does anyone know if this can be done? Has anyone got experience of this?
Cheers.
