Storage Heater Problems

by BB71 » Thu Feb 04, 2010 3:44 pm

I have 2 storage heaters in my flat & have recently had a problem where the wall switches seem to be heating up, one of them even to the point of melting from the inside (which has given me the fright of me life).

Have replaced both switches but they both seem to be still warming up when I try to use the heaters, there doesn't appear to be any problem with the wiring as there is no sign of scorching or damage to the wires.

Any idea's on what may be happening as I'm getting increasingly concerned & stopped using both heaters

hi. recheck connections to ensure not screwed up on insulation rather than bare wire end, have found some DP isolators and Fused connection units have very deep term. holes which allow core to go in too far,
