strange tap head

I have replaced tap washers in the past with no problem, however on this mixer tap, I cant get the head off. There's not the usual screw, its almost like a metal ball in a white plastic threaded washer. looks like it needs a special tool? Can anyone shed any light on this for me? I have attached a picture to aid my poor description!
