stripping Paint off Fiddly Areas of a Bannister?

Can anyone help me with a question please I'm midway through a bannister project I'm stripping the old paint off with a heat gun and basic wallpaper scraper this is OK for large flat surfaces but I'm stuck when It comes to the detailed bits and lips etc is there any tools that could help me with the fiddly areas?
