Structural insulated panel construction

I am very interested in building with Structural Insulated Panels.

I have trawled through the online literature but would welcome some feedback from the ground on anyone who has experience in this building system.

I understand the technology as a whole, it seems like the quick build times and airtight shell is good but are there any hidden costs? What about external finishes?

Also i see SIPs floors are rarely used, i assume this is down to cost?

Any information would be great!

worked on lots of projects which have a timber frame, but they have always had joists for floor and trusses for the roof.

not sure why, could be to do with H&S, costs, services in floors

building trade and developers are tradional and dont seem to embrace new products or methods
