    i am having a conservatory built, the builder has used thermalite blocks below the DPC line (on top of Trenchblock). I have been told that you should not use thermalite below ground level

    in a rule no you should not use thermalite 100mm block below dpc .
    But trenchblocks are thermalite anyway so I wouldnt worry.
