TILING DIRECTLY ON TO OSB BOARD

Post by morag83 » Wed Aug 19, 2009 1:04 pm

JUST BUILT A PARTITION WALL IN A BATHROOM AND HAVE USED OSB BOARD TO SURFACE THE BATHROOM SIDE. CAN I JUST TILE DIRECTLY ON TO THE OSB BOARD OR DO I HAVE TO PLASTER BOARD OVER FIRST?

morag83,
Unless you are going to sell PDQ the answer is no to both your questions.
OSB is not a stable substrate and the tiles or plaster will fall off.
