tiling onto MDF

Hi i want to construct a floor to ceiling pillar 160mmsqr. x2m tall at the drying end of a walk in shower which will need to be tiled, since it will be a small area can mdf be used and tiled dierctly onto.

Errm - No.

Put 18mm WBP plywood up. Tile straight onto this without priming.
