tiling over tiles......

i have just joined this forum as ive seen a few posts from a while ago about tiling over tiles.
i am planning to do this in my bathroom( yes i know it would be better to take existing ones off....however funds are ltd and i think it will then need to be replastered)
i just wondered if anyone has successfully done this & if so what tips they can give me....
