TO LINTEL OR NOT TO LINTEL ?

PLEASE HELP ! I want to remove most of the wall and pop in a 6 panel sliding/folding door. Do i need a lintel ? Or can i remove the recessed bricks and fit the new door and frame, I will be plastering the front so do not mind the lintel if it's a HAVE TO ! But if I can avoid the extra work ;).Done similar but have never tackled a face brick house before !!?Any help with this would be fantastic!

the wall does not look like its load bearing regarding the roof.I would install a steel post 100x100 each end to reinforce the ends of the walls and give extra support for the roof.
