    Toilet Does Not Flush

    Postby PaulPet » Mon Jan 11, 2010 3:03 pm

    Hi all

My cloakroom toilet does not flush.

I bought it from B and Q. It has a silver button on top of the cistern that we push to flush.

The buttons are set at the bottom of the hole (pushed right down) and will not come back to the top.

    Can anyone help please??

    PaulPet,
The mechanism is stuck, remove the lid, free the mechanism, replace the lid.

Can you be more explanatory please. The mechanism means nothing to me.

There are lots of blue and white plastic tubes in there, and a blue wire thing that goes up to a small unit under the lid.

    PaulPet,
All the plastic tubes should be connected somewhere. If they are not water may have been sucked into the push button.
The flush mechanism is basically a plunger which lifts to flush the loo, the cances are that this is stuck. Try lightly rocking the central column in the cistern an see if this will free the plunger.

Thanks but the centre plunger can move, it's the buttons on the lid that are stuck down. I can't get them to come up to the top.
