Two Mixer Showers With Issues is Advise From Plumber Correct?

by Theshrews81 » Wed Aug 20, 2014 11:08 am

Hi,

I have two mixer showers that are playing up. I had a plumber come and view them and his advice was to install two new showers. Is that correct?

The issues:

Shower one - not heating up, could the cartridge be replaced or the shower cleaned/ repaired?
Shower Two - the shower head is dripping when turn off, is it the washer in the mixer that is playing up/ corroded?

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi

Your plumber could well be correct. Without knowing the age and condition of these showers, and if parts are available it's not possible to tell.
It may be that replacement is the most cost effective answer. Why not ask another plumber's opinion.
