As the title says really. I can't open the door to the kitchen - I have taken off the handle to try to turn the square bit with pliers but that doesn't help. It only does the same as the handle does.

Any suggestions please?

Check the hinges on the door where possible remove the pins and open the door replace the lock as it sounds as if it is beyond repair and put the door back on to it's hinge and replace the pins securely.
