UNDER PELMET LIGHTING

by ramage570 » Fri May 04, 2007 2:18 pm

HI, I'VE RECENTLY MOVED INTO A NEW BUILD PROPERTY WHERE THEY FITTED UNDER PELMET LIGHTING IN THE KITCHEN BY MISTAKE. THEY HAVE REMOVED THE LIGHTS BUT LEFT SOME KIND OF JUNCTION BOXES ON THE TOP OF THE KITCHEN UNITS. CAN ANYONE TELL ME HOW TO RECONNECT THE UNDER PELMET LIGHTING AND ALSO WHERE THEY ARE POWERED FROM (THINK IT MAY BE THE EXTRACTOR HOOD BUT NOT SURE)

No set way of wiring them, they may have come from main light, or from a fused connection unit, which may also do the hood.
If new build are leckies still around? ask site agent, or have a look at consumer unit it should have label with firms name or you must by law have been given a set of electrical test sheets for your house which will have the firms name & address, ring them & see if you can find out who did job and try to speak to them, regards SPARX
