Untreated Pine Fireplace - needs protecting

by Janey_87 » Tue Dec 15, 2009 7:57 pm

Hello all,

Need a little help  .

I have a untreated pine fireplace. I would like to coat with a clear protective coat to stop it getting marked.

Problem is I have no idea what to coat a pine fireplace with

Please can anyone point me in the right direction?

Thanks

You can oil it, wax it or varnish it (stain it first if you want).

No connection with me but this site gives a good grounding if you are going the clear varnish (which is what I think you want) or the stain/varnish route.

Google "extremehowto.com/xh/article.asp?article_id=60431"

HTH

Cheers
