UPVC doors

Post by RoyG » Tue Oct 02, 2007 9:01 am

I'd like to fit a safety chain to the front door (and maybe even the back door) They're both uPVC double glazed

Is something like a Plasplug hollow door fixing going to be up to the job? Are there any problems with drilling into a uPVC hollow door I should know about?

Screwing into the face of a upvc not only invalidates any warranty you have on the door but also weakens the plastic which will simply split if anyone forces it. The only available chain you can use is shown if you Google "upvcdoorchain.com" and will cost you about £10
