Can anyone tell me how to mix white render for an external wall? Do I just use white cement and light coloured sand or do I need to add a colouring?

Hi

White Mortars
White mortar is made with white masonry cement, or with white portland cement and lime, and white sand

Regards

Yes use a light coloured sand and make sure that you use the same colour throughout - otherwise you'll get a patchwork effect. White cement is a very good idea as it allows the colour to stand out more.

For the colour itself use cemetone dye

The most important thin is that mixes are equal gauge using a bucket. Guage the dye with a cup.

Best of luck with it.

Cheers
