Hi, small problem. I installed some low voltage downlights in a bedroom cupboard with a PIR sensor hoping it would switch on when the doors are opened. I took a live(loop) and Neutral from the bedroom light fitting to the PIR following the PIR's instructions and then to the transformer.

I powered it up, the bedroom light came on alrite but when switched off, it started flashing.

Any ideas what i have done wrong??

Thanks.

the PIR must not be lit by the lights it is controlling, why didn't you just use a £2 door switch made for the purpose?
the pir workes by sensing a moving heat source, initially you!
when you close the door it turns off after its set time delay, but the heat decaying from the lamp is enough to retrigger it & repeat ad infinitum!
Try a cold lamp (LED), or shield PIR (Not easy in cupboard) or change to door switch (preferable) as very reliable, see your fridge!
