Hi, im looking for information on how to build a ceiling over an existing one. The ceiling is 153inchx164inch and as far as i know is made from concrete. I was thinking of using 2x4 batons and was wondering what is the best method of fixing the batons to the walls and then how to fix the Joice's to the batons on the wall. The walls are concrete except for the one around the window witch has plaster board stuck on to concrete.
Any ideas would be very helpful and gratefully appreciated.
Thanks,
Nico.

You divide the width in feet ie 12 feet divided by 2 = 6 convert that into inches =6 inches and add 2 inches = 8 inches.
Then divide the length of the room in inches by 16, that equals the number of joists required.
Fit some 2 x 2 inch wood round the walls at your intended ceiling height, place the joists on the wood, fix them in place, add plaster board, plaster.
