| i have just bought a new upvc door ,and was wondering if there is any way of fitting a device that will lock the door on exit, without the use of a key ,something like a night latch, as my teenagers keep leaving the door unlocked when going to school ....any help would be greatly appreciated. |

joni5,
If you are lucky the door will be fitted with a split actuating mechanism in the lock, once the lock is modified you will be able to open the door from inside using the handle but must have a key to open the door from the outside. If this type of lock is not fitted to the door your supplier may be able to supply one.

| Train the kids to lock it. Ive been to countless burglaries where the door was only on the lacth. The insurance wont pay out either if its not fully locked.Thieves target upvc in the hope its not fully locked. |
