ROOF VERGE MORTAR MIX

Hi. I keep patching up my verges with a 3:1 smooth sand/cement mix but it doesn't last long. I saw that someone had suggested a 6:1:1 mix for verges. Does that mean 6 smooth sand,1 cement, 1 lime mix? In fact is this the right mix for the job?

Yes and yes but make sure you have a depth to patch deeper than the height and wet the area well.
