I have been removing wallpaper from bedroom walls in a house we are going to move into. Inside the window recess appeared to be just painted walls. It wasn't until I removed the paper from around the window that I realised it was starting to peel bits of paper off the recess, as it has been papered with lining paper and then glossed over. This is a nightmare to remove,(even with a steamer) but as some bits are now off, it will all have to come off. Any easy tips would be appreciated.

Hi hollyanne, all you can really do is score it well and get the surface rough. If you can get it loose close to the top then get some soapy water into it, it will help. Don't take off the loose bits if you can help it as they will hold some water which will get behind the paper. It can be a slow job though.
