breaking mirror doors

i need to break three sliding mirror doors, since installation the stairwell ceiling has been lowered and they cannot be removed in one piece. any tips on safety or otherwise would be appreciated.

I guess you could score them and snap along the score lines in the same way you would cut glass. Do take all sensible precautions though including eyewear as glass can be sharp and if it goes wrong you could have lots of sharp bits.
