I have a heat only Baxi boiler (with built-in thermostat and timers) that is 24 years old with a gravity feed to a hot water cylinder and a seperate feed to 9 rads via a pump. Apart from a couple of pumps and thermo-couples it has been trouble free since installation.
It is an open flue system flued though a chimney liner. I would like to demolish the chimney to create more usable space in the bathroom.
My question is would it be possible to covert the flueing from "Open" to a "Balanced Flue" without replacing the boiler, and if so what would I need?

The answer definately is no. Balanced flue boilers are room sealed combustion chambers. Alarm bells are sounding here, any attempt at this spells danger. Come on, your old boiler has given you good service time to move on.

Time for a new system or leave it be and live with the chimney methinks.

Cheers
