I'm about to start laminating the floor in the living room and plan to replace the skirting and architrave with new skirting as I don't like the look of beading to hide the gaps.

My problem is that I have a stone hearth that is set on concrete and I want to know how to lay the laminate around it to make it look its best. Should/can I butt the laminate to the hearth? I've also seen some cork strips which may do the job but still don't look great.

Can anyone help please?
Matt

Fairly tight to the hearth but still leave a small gap compared with the edges which will be under your new skirtings. The laminate suppliers will provide you with a "special" filler coloured to match the laminate to fill the gap. Bit like silicone sealant and you apply it with a cartridge gun.

Cheers

B&Q sell it. Ask the gentleman in there which one he recommends for the floor you have purchased.

Cheers
