vintage light switch to replace

by yoga » Wed Aug 15, 2007 1:43 pm

My bedroom light is as follows: a ceiling rose with hanging bulb, and a separate flex coming from the ceiling at a different point, on the end of which is an egg-shaped toggle-switch.

The switch has broken and I am wondering if I can get this kind of switch any more. If not can you recommend a way round this, hopefully not having to wire in a new switch into the wall. Thanks.

Tom

Hi Tom, fit a pull sw.
Check if old pendant sw. is 1 or 2 way ie has 2 or 3 cores connected & buy matching type, NB if 2 way not what colour is in common term & refit the same in pull sw.
