    washing machine and diswasher

    Postby beerygoodness » Thu Oct 25, 2007 8:43 am

morning, i would like to connect a dishwasher and washingmachine to the tap outlet under my sink. both are cold feed only, whats the easiest way of doing it and what bits would i need?
is there such a thing to connect to the existing tab and allow to appliances to connect straight to that? is there also a double waste connector? i've checked screwfix and b&q but i'm not really sure whats the best thing

    thanks

    Hi beerygoodness,
There is a waste connector that allows for sink drainage and two additional outlets for washing machine and dishwasher. This will connect on to your waste beneath the sink.
I'm guessing that both machines are close to each other and the mains supply. You need to tee off of nearest mains water supply, then run a straight to first applience and tee off to that, then straight to next using tee joint, then using a bend or elbow to last applience.
Depending what type of pipe you use, you'll need 2 tee joints and an elbow joint. You also need to connect double check valve on each leg to washer and dish washer to stop water flowing back to drinking water and taps for connecting hoses on to.
    Best Luck
