Wet patch on ceiling after new pvc window fitted.

Postby susan hennessey » Fri Mar 11, 2011 4:31 pm

I had new windows fitted in november & have developed a wet patch directly below the corner of one of the bedroom windows. The wet patch is on the inside on the ceiling just at the edge of the extension. The company who fitted the windows refuse to accept the problem has anything to do with the windows. I also had a similar problem on the inside of one of the down stairs windows. The fitter took off trim & filled gap with caulk & this now seems to be drying out.
Is this a common problem? How do i get company to admit fault?
    Please help

you have asked them to come round and they have refused to accept blame.,Sounds like the drainage could be blocked,The glass unit needs to be removed and the pvc frame checked for water ingress.
Contact them again and tell them you will report them to FENSA.If you dont get any luck contact building control at your local council they will inspect it for you.

    Thank you so much.
I have written to them. Also sent a letter to Fensa.
    Fingers crossed they will help.
So many people think they can pull a quick one when they deal with a Miss.
But since they have been fitted i've married quite a chunk of man so next time they come around they can deal with him.
You have been a big help
    Thanks again.
