wet underfloor heated wet room

by hrt1 » Tue Jun 12, 2007 2:54 pm

I am about to fit wet underfloor heating into the screed of a basement. One of the rooms is to be a wet room. If I install a preformed shower tray this will stop the heat passing from the screed to the tiles above. Is the only answer to form the fall in the screed or is there another solution?

Not entirely sure of the question. Where does the shower tray fit in and are you planning to put heating under it. If there is a tray the heating and the screed runs up to it, not under it. If the tray fills the room then its pointless having the heating in there at all. See our project on wetrooms and walk in showers

Thanks, I was thinking about forming the fall in the screed so no tray would be needed, that way the u/f heating could warm all of the floor. The room is only 6 foot sq
