    What's between plasterboard and the soil stack?

    Hi
    Trying to put up a small shelf above the wash basin. The wall is hollow - but I've drilled through the plasterboard and hit something else - maybe wood? Worried about going further because I might hit the soil stack.
    Any suggestions?
