White Paint

Hi,

I'm looking to paint my living room white in an attempt to make it look wider and taller.

Can anyone give me any advice on the coulour white, there are so many and I don't know where to start without spending a fortune on samples.

Also can painting 1 wall or the ceiling a different colour make the room seem bigger?
